Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required but a logical mind and a willingness to experiment and explore would be a big help.

Aimed at learners who wish to start out in creating modern, effective websites whether that be for personal or business use and who would consider themselves to be beginners in the subject.

Course Length

The course runs weekly for ten weeks. Lessons from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesdays.

Course Content

A practical workshops providing the skills and knowledge required to understand how the web works, master the basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript, and build a website from scratch or modify an existing site. Through a series of tutor-led exercises, you will learn how to structure a website using HTML5 before styling it to your own design using CSS. You will then be able to combine all of the skills learned in your own website project. You will also get the opportunity to add exciting interactivity using jQuery.

You will be introduced to a range of subjects including:

  • How the Web Works
  • Wireframing and Usability
  • HTML
  • Basic CSS – Formatting
  • Advanced CSS - Layout and Positioning
  • Responsive Design with Bootstrap and Javascript


There is no formal qualification for this course but a college certificate of attendance can be provided if required.
