Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist Apprenticeship Level 3
This occupation is found in wellbeing environments; Spa, Leisure, Holistic or Wellness Therapy centres, Medi-spas and Beauty salons, These environments are expanding due to the continuing demand for lifestyle wellness including para medical, health care environments and businesses implementing wellbeing corporate responsibility. Wellbeing and Holistic therapists complete treatments and wellbeing experiences via holistic therapy principles, theories and applications to calm or stimulate the sensory perceptions of the body and mind in the pursuit of optimal functioning and balance of the physical, emotional and mental aspects of daily life.
Entry requirements
You must be employed in a relevant role for a minimum of 30 hours per week. As a minimum, you should have 4 GCSEs or equivalent at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths and a Level 2 Beauty qualification.
What will I study?
This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work as a Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist, creating, implementing and adapting tailored holistic and wellbeing experiences, in a variety of environments, meeting and managing treatment and experience outcomes in private, secure and safe environments. The following units will be covered:
- Delivering specific treatments such as; aromatherapy, acupressure and holistic massage Indian head massage, lymphatic drainage and wellness experiences
- Post treatment aftercare and making future recommendations
- Commercial viability and effectiveness of the business to enhance the client experience Interacting with other health and non-health care practitioners
- Time management of treatments and wellbeing experiences
- Safety and wellbeing
You will build up a portfolio, which is a collection of examples or evidence of your work that demonstrates your skills and ability, such as a work diary, photos, statements from your employer and colleagues and examples of completed tasks which will form the basis of the professional discussion in end point assessment (EPA). You will also keep a treatment log (compiled during the on-programme period of the apprenticeship) which provides evidence of how you have used technologies during treatments carried out.
Method of delivery
Apprentices attend College one day per week and work for their employer the rest of the time. This apprenticeship takes 12 months to complete and will be followed by an End-Point Assessment.
How will I be assessed?
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) will comprise of:
- 80-minute online knowledge test of 44 questions
- Observation of 4 hours with 3 treatments
- 60-minute professional discussion based on your portfolio of evidence

There are no specific College programme related costs, however, you will be advised of any additional costs during your application and enrolment process.

Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Good course combinations
It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level or A Level programmes.
Your next steps
On completion of this apprenticeship you may progress onto Level 5 Aesthetics qualifications or work as a Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist in a range of expanding environments.
