VTCT (iTEC) Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation with Antony Turner

The VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation is about using micropigmentation, a form of cosmetic tattooing to create make-up effects to enhance facial features. It covers the skills involved in providing a thorough consultation with the client to formulate a specific course of treatment, tailored to suit individual client needs.
You will prepare for and achieve a range of micropigmentation effects as well as providing the relevant aftercare. To carry out this treatment you will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene throughout your work.
This course will be delivered as part of a unique partnership with the award-winning PMU artist, Antony Turner. Antony will provide the practical demonstrations and training and students will also receive a Certificate from Antony Turner alongside the Level 4 VTCT Qualification. Students will receive their own start-up kit, which includes the products and equipment to carry out treatments and one year’s insurance from Antony Turner.
Entry requirements
Students should have completed a Level 3 Beauty related qualification prior to undertaking this qualification.
Course units

Learners must achieve the mandatory units:
- Management of health, safety and security in the salon
- Quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector
- Enhance appearance using micropigmentation treatment
Throughout this qualification, learners will prepare for and achieve a range of micropigmentation effects on the brows, lips and eyeline, as well as providing the relevant aftercare. To carry out this treatment you will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene throughout your work.
Assessment
Each course consists of 6 weeks pre-learning (theory) which must be completed before the practical training commences. Practical training includes six days of in-person training and assessments (Monday – Saturday), delivered by Antony Turner and supported by York College experienced trainers and assessors. As part of this qualification students are required to work on their own models to produce a portfolio of evidence to show how assessment standards have been met.

Study methods
This is a Level 4 qualification and students will need to demonstrate a variety of skills. Input and guidance will be provided by the tutor, face to face in College.
Facilities
York College have 2 large fully equipped hairdressing salons, an inviting commercial salon reception, 3 media make-up workshops and 5 beauty therapy salons. Students will have access to professional products and equipment.
Students will also have access to college facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
Additional costs
Students will need to wear appropriate uniform for training, this could be your own professional work uniform.

Career progression
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare students for employment in the advanced non-medical aesthetic industry providing skin peeling techniques.
Additionally, students may choose to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing supplementary specialist qualifications at Level 4.
