Science T Level
The aim of the course is to build on the knowledge and skills gained in GCSE science, preparing you for employment in the science sector, apprenticeship or higher education.
Entry requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English plus a grade 5 in Maths and Science.
What will I study?
There is a specific focus on working within the science or the health sector as well as developing good scientific skills. You will be taught about scientific methods, how to use specialist equipment and undertake a range of experimental techniques.
You will also develop your understanding of science. The qualification will cover all three sciences; biology, chemistry and physics.

The course includes work experience and a work-based project.
Method of delivery
Over the two years of your technical qualification studies you will spend 80% on College-based studies and 20% on employer work experience.

This technical qualification will support students on to a range of progression routes including employment, higher education and higher apprenticeships.
What can I do after I complete my T Level course?
These courses are designed to provide you with the skills needed to apply for employment in the relevant industry. Alternatively, you can progress to university to study further or you could apply to study an apprenticeship.
What UCAS points do T Levels carry?
UCAS tariff points were allocated to T Levels in 2019, with the top T Level grade equal to achieving 3 A* at A Level. Points have been allocated to the overall T Level grade, and students must achieve at least an overall pass grade to receive UCAS points.
Do I have to find my own work placement?
We have a Work Placement team based at the College who will arrange this for you with participating employers, ensuring you can gain the knowledge you need.
