NCFE Level 3 Award in Education and Teaching
This course is aimed at learners who wish to develop skills and progress to a teaching role within the workplace, you do not have to be currently in a teaching role to apply.
The course is also suitable for workplace assessors who wish to develop their teaching/training skills.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory teaching qualification which will prepare you with the skills and knowledge required to progress to a teaching role within the education sector. You will develop a set of core skills that combine the theory behind teaching and learning approaches in education with practical teaching skills.
Entry requirements
Students should hold a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
Course units
This course includes the following mandatory modules:
- Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
Assessments
A portfolio of evidence is required as well as an assessed micro teach.

Course progression
Successful completion of the Level 3 course allows for progression on to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

Students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
Additional costs
All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, some courses may require additional study from home, you may need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning. You will be made aware of any additional study time at the time of enrolment.
Study methods
The course is classroom-based, and learners must complete a 20-minute micro teach to the group under assessment conditions.
