Here at York College we have state-of-the-art training kitchens and a superb training restaurant, Ashfields. Develop your skills in food and menu preparation, or learn how to provide a first-class restaurant service, and be part of the team to provide an exciting dining experience for our clients.

With teaching by tutors with extensive experience in the industry, we have strong links with local and national employers, an excellent success rate in local and national competitions and 100% progression to higher studies or employment.

I’m really passionate about cooking and being a chef, so that is why I chose this course. I like getting the chance to learn in a calm environment and covering all the basics you need for the industry. Nowhere else offered the course I wanted to do, and the College has great facilities. After completing this course I aim to progress to Level 3. I dream of achieving my own rosettes at a restaurant I’m working at, and then maybe at a restaurant that I own.
