Whether you are interested in acquiring the craft skills for a particular trade or looking to enter the construction industry in the fields of management, design and supervision we have a course to suit everyone, from entry level through to higher level.
We have an array of impressive facilities to enhance student learning. The Construction & Engineering Centre accommodates two large bricklaying workshops, five carpentry & joinery workshops, changing facilities, classrooms and IT suites. The Construction & Engineering Centre new extension contains training equipment for renewables. This allows students to learn the skills to install and maintain ground and air source heat pumps. Industry standard materials testing equipment allows students to put the theory they are learning into practice, ready for the working environment.
In our main building we have a stonemasonry workshop (one of only a handful in the country), painting & decorating, plumbing and electrical installation workshops for students to develop their practical skills.

As a woman, I’ve certainly not felt there’s a ceiling for me in the Construction industry and three of the 10 students on our College course were female. The course provided a great overview of the construction industry and, depending on which module you enjoyed most, it can be a stepping stone towards so many careers whether that’s in surveying, renovation, refurbishment or health and safety.
