This exciting course gives you the opportunity to develop a wide skillset completing hands-on practical projects, employing a variety of digital skills that can be utilised in numerous different areas in the future. Whilst studying the course you will continue to develop your interpersonal skills and industry knowledge through completion of practical projects.

You will develop subject specific skills including an introduction to IT basics that can be used in employment, knowledge and experience with programmes across the Adobe Suite, Procreate Design Software and a wide range of Apps that will enhance your learning further. You will work both independently and within groups to improve core skills required for industry and progression such as communication, organisation, teamwork and research.

If you have not yet achieved Maths and English at grade 4 or above you will continue to study these as part of this course.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 3 GCSE subjects at grade 2, ideally including English and Maths. Students with no formal qualifications will be assessed before enrolment. You must have a keen interest in Digital Technologies including creative and interactive media.

What will I study?

You will complete a number of projects over the year that will develop your skills and these could include:

  • Games Design + Development Project
  • Introduction to Programming
  • Digital Photography Project
  • Moving Image and Animation
  • 3D Modelling
  • Final Major Project

These units aim to develop a wide variety of digital skills that can be utilised in numerous different areas such as Digital Technologies, Games Development and Digital Media.

This course is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a safe and supportive environment.

You will use IPads in most of your units and these are provided to you by the College for use in lessons.


Students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English will continue studying both of these subjects alongside the course.


Additional costs 
There are no set additional costs, but all students will always require a pair of headphones on them as these will be required in sessions.

Method of delivery

Learning will occur through demonstration, followed by active exploration of a variety of tools and applications that enhance your learning further before producing evidence in the form of project work.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed using a variety of project-based assessment in a portfolio including evidence such as reports, presentations, professional discussions and a working portfolio which will be shown on your own blog.

Good course combinations

This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level, Apprenticeship or A Level programmes.

Your next steps

On successful completion of the course you may progress to the Level 2 in Computing & Game Development or an equivalent pathway.
