Content Creator Apprenticeship Level 3
This occupation is found in employers across all sectors. It is a role that can be found in both creative and non-creative industries. This can be in any business creating content to engage with its audience.
The broad purpose of the occupation is to develop and create written and audio visual content that can be used across a variety of platforms and media. This may include social media, broadcast or in print.
A content creator works to a brief. They research, prepare and develop the messaging to maximise audience engagement. They capture the strategy and objectives of the brand and needs of the customer, client or business.
The content they create can be used as part of media, advertising, documenting and marketing campaigns.
They simplify and tailor a message to the audience to suit the purpose. These can be used across different platforms and channels. An interest in technology and creating content is a must.
Entry requirements
You must be employed in a relevant role for a minimum of 30 hours per week. As a minimum, you should have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
What will I study?
This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work as an Content Creator and will include the following:
- Plan and develop creative content in line with the brief and budget/costs.
- Interpret the strategy and objectives of the brand and align these to content.
- Research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement.
- Develop and create written content that can be used across a variety of media.
- Create visual and audio content that can be used across a variety of media.
- Store content securely and methodically to enable efficient access and retrieval.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to plan and align content delivery with business objectives.
- Manage content online using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the content produced against the original plan and recommend improvements.
- Undertake continuous professional development to keep up-to-date with trends and technology.
Method of delivery
Apprentices will typically attend York College on a day release for the duration of the apprenticeship and work with their employer for the remainder of their contracted hours. During their time in College, apprentices will work towards developing their knowledge, skills and behaviours, and at work will consolidate their on-programme learning with the support of their employer. An assessor will visit the workplace every 8-10 weeks to discuss and monitor progress on the apprenticeship in conjunction with the employer
How will I be assessed?
Continual assessment will take place throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) will comprise of a 60-minute professional discussion with a minimum of 7 questions asked based on the portfolio that you have complied during your apprenticeship. There is also a Project or campaign evaluation report, presentation of additional/new content and questions. You will be asked to complete a project or campaign evaluation report and you need to prepare and give a presentation. The presentation with questions will last at least 30 minutes and at least 5 questions will be asked.

There are no specific College programme related costs, however you will be advised of any additional costs during your application and enrolment process.

Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level or A Level programmes.
Your next steps
This apprenticeship can lead on to a Marketing Executive Apprenticeship Level 4 or a variety of job roles such as Content strategist, SEO or Digital Marketing Specialist.
