Couch to Court: Introduction to Basketball Skills
Ever wanted to play or supervise basketball, but don’t know where to start? This course, run by York Eagles coach Tyler Paton-Pottage, gives an insight into playing technique, rules and tactics and is a great introduction to basketball for new players.

We have a number of other courses for adults, including lots of Sports courses such as the YMCA Level 2 Gym Instructing and the YMCA Level 3 Personal Training.

This course is a practical, hands-on course and students will learn in a friendly and professional environment.
Facilities
York College's Athletic Suite is a fully-resourced gym which includes resistance training equipment, free weights and a cardio suite. Our Sports facilities also include a large Sports Hall. Students will have the opportunity to use these facilities throughout the course.

The course provides an introduction to sports and may be suitable for those wishing to learn more about sports / sports coaching or the leisure industry. You may decide to pursue other courses either for pleasure or to enhance your employability/existing skills.
