Intermediate Italian
This course is aimed at people with a little previous knowledge of Italian who would like to be able to speak and understand a little when they are on holiday or travelling for work.
Students will acquire basic communication skills in Italian, for use in a variety of familiar useful situations such as when you’re on holiday or travelling for work.
Entry requirements
Students should have completed the Beginners course or have a little previous knowledge of Italian.
Course units
The course has various useful and helpful topics which may include:
- Hobbies/leisure time
- Daily routine and telling the time
- Weather
- Booking and checking into a hotel
- Public and private transport
- Shopping for food and clothes
Assessments
There are no formal assessments required, students will be awarded with a York College certificate upon completion.

Course progression
Students who successfully complete this course may progress to Intermediate Italian Plus 1, if there is sufficient demand.

Study methods
This is a classroom-based course and will be taught with a focus on listening, understanding and speaking with an introduction to reading and writing.

Students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
Additional costs
All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, some courses may require additional study from home, you may need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning. You will be made aware of any additional study time at the time of enrolment.
