BSL British Sign Language Signature Level 1 Award (Unit 2 - Term 2)
This course is suitable for students who have completed the Signature British Sign Language Level 2 Award Unit 1.
Students will learn to understand and use BSL to have a basic social conversation.
Entry requirements
Students should have completed the Signature British Sign Language Level 1 Award Unit 1.
Course units
The course will cover describing people, animals and objects, interests and activities, food and drink and using numbers.
Assessment
Assessment methods used throughout the course include a filmed conversation with the teacher which is externally assessed.

Course progression
Students who successfully complete term 2 of the BSL qualification may progress on to the Level 1 Award Unit 3.

Study methods
The course consists of work in the classroom (teaching and practice of BSL). An equivalent time spent on personal study at home may be beneficial to students.
Facilities
Students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
Additional costs
All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, some courses may require additional study from home, you may need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning. You will be made aware of any additional study time at the time of enrolment.
