Bricklaying City & Guilds Diploma Level 2
This course is a practical, hands-on course that teaches a variety of bricklaying skills and allows you to learn, develop and practise these skills required for employment. The course also includes classroom theory work to prepare you for the online tests.
To be successful on this course, you need to have outstanding commitment and enthusiasm, a willingness to work as part of a team, and outstanding attendance and punctuality.
Entry requirements
A minimum of 3 GCSE subjects at grade 4 or above including English and Maths, or you can progress from the Bricklaying Diploma Level 1.
What will I study?

- Building Cavity Walls
- Building Solid Walls and Piers
- Constructing Basic Arches
- Setting Out Buildings
Additional costs

Method of delivery
This programme will be delivered in our modern workshops and classrooms, focusing on developing your practical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours ready for assessment. All assessments will be carried out in accordance with awarding body guidelines. To prepare you prior to your assessments, we will build up your skills, knowledge and behaviours to give you the best chance of achieving your potential. We will sequence the curriculum delivery to meet industry needs and work with you through each step to build your confidence.
How will I be assessed?
Practical and theory work will be assessed in line with awarding body requirements. This will be a mixture of online externally set and marked examinations and practical synoptic assessments.
Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level, Apprenticeship or A Level programmes.
Your next steps
This qualification will allow you to progress into employment or on to an apprenticeship in Bricklaying. Some of our students then go on to higher-level courses in construction.
