NCFE CACHE Level 3 Applied General Award for Early Years, Childcare and Education
This qualification is ideal for students looking to develop knowledge and understanding of child development, education and care, which will allow them to progress to study in further education or higher education or join the workplace as an apprentice.

A full Level 2 Early Years qualification
In addition, students should have a good attendance record and complete a successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to starting the course, for which there will be a charge.

The qualification is made up of 5 units which include:
- The role of the early years, childcare and education practitioner
- Human development from conception to 19 years
- Key legislation, policy and procedures
- Statutory educational frameworks
- Play and learning

Prior to starting the course students are required to complete a successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), for which there will be a charge.
Method of delivery
All classes are taught in college, however there may also be opportunities to take part in trips which are related to the units taught.

How will I be assessed?
Students are assessed through externally marked exams as well as internally and externally marked assessments.
Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, Apprenticeship or A Level programmes.
Your next steps
This qualification will prepare students and assist them to progress to further education, higher education, as well as apprenticeship courses such as an Advanced Apprenticeship for the Children and Young People’s Work Force or Early Years Educator, which leads to vocationally related employment in early years and childcare with a licence to practice.
