A group of ten Sports students from York College have experienced two weeks absorbing the world of football in Spain, having taken part in a Everything Is Possible project in Valencia, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
Over the two weeks, the students participated in activities organised by Spanish Pro Football, they attended Spanish lessons, learnt the Spanish way of coaching and playing football, as well as delivering football sessions to young people at CF San Jose football club and Valencia C.F’s disabled team.
Enjoy the Everything is Possible video, outlining the student's experiences in Valencia:
The Everything Is Possible ‘Discovering More’ project enabled the students to submerge themselves in a new culture, take on new challenges and provided a wonderful opportunity for personal development. Students embraced and overcame challenges such as coaching in a new language, cooking paella and experiencing life in a different country.
York College Sports Coordinator Gaz Lee accompanied the students, he comments: “It was a brilliant life experience for our students and we are very grateful to Everything Is Possible for allowing them the opportunity. Over the course of the project, it was great to see the students grow as individuals, and collectively. They each had their time to shine and push themselves out of their comfort zone. The project helped them to discover more about themselves and their own potential. I am so proud of them all, they embraced the experience and learnt so much in the process.”
