Large-scale Motor Trades Show to be held at York College

Secondary school students who might be interested in a career in the Motor Industry are being invited to a large-scale event at York College & University Centre next month.

The 2025 York College & YMF Car Parts Motor Trades Show will be held on Thursday 8th May from 5.30pm to 9pm.

Parents and carers are also encouraged to come along and learn more about the Motor Vehicle courses and apprenticeships that the college runs.

Talks will be held in the Lecture Theatre on the Sim Balk Lane institution’s campus with the IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) providing a guest speaker to discuss how the sector is developing and offer help with future choices.

The college’s expert team of tutors, meanwhile, will be detailing the opportunities and progression routes available for students and apprentices.

There will also be a chance to view the college’s state-of-the-art Motor Vehicle workshops and meet the 45 specialists and dealerships who will have stalls at the event, organised in conjunction with YMF Car Parts.

The show could be an opportunity, too, for employers in the industry who want to learn more about potential apprenticeship and work placement partnerships to come along and gain details about the college’s full educational offering in the Motor Vehicle field.

There is no need to book in advance and anybody interested is just encouraged to make their way to Sim Balk Lane for a 5.30pm start to attend the talks, visit the manufacturer stands and learn all about the emerging local and global employment opportunities in the Motor Industry.
