York College gains Highly Commended recognition at 2024 Educate North Awards
Staff at York College & University Centre are celebrating winning Highly Commended Silver recognition at the 2024 Educate North Awards.
Our Student/Parent App, which launched at the start of this academic year, was acknowledged in the Digital Education and Development category during the prestigious awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Deansgate, Manchester.
York College & University Centre Director of Information Services Louise Jones accepted the prize on behalf of the Reporting Services Team, with awards decided by a panel of judges from the business and academic communities.
The App has vastly improved College’s ability to communicate directly with both students and parents.
It has also proven an efficient way for timetables to be accessed.
This year was the 10th running of the Educate North Awards, which aim to promote excellence, advancement and improvement across the North of England’s University, Higher Education, Further Education and Sixth Form sectors.
Broadcaster and founder of the Awards Rob McLoughlin paid tribute to the winners, nominees and ceremony team when he said: “This is the North showing itself to be global leaders, superb educationalists and locally as well as universally focussed. The ENAs have grown in prestige and stature, and we’ve enjoyed record numbers of entries.
“We want it to grow and encourage more enterprise, breakthroughs and superb educational outcomes for the North and UK as a whole.”
The App will also be made available to all of our prospective 2024/25 students and their parents with more details provided during the Enrolment period.
