Pathways students enjoy work placement celebration breakfast
Congratulations to our Pathways to Work and Independent Living students who attended an Employers’ Breakfast to celebrate the completion of their work placements.
The morning get together was hosted in our Ashfields Restaurant and offered an opportunity for York College & University Centre’s staff and students to say a big thank you to all the employers who have supported the work placement programme.
Among the employers who joined the students at the breakfast were representatives from Sainsbury's, Tesco, the National Railway Museum, York Explore Library, York Designer Outlet, Stimul8 Inclusive Cafe, York College & University Centre's Inspired Hair and Beauty Salon and our Estates Department.
Awards were presented to all of the students to mark their successful participation and completion of their work placement.
The Pathways to Work and Independent Living course is ideal for students working at Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3 and Level 1 who may require a personalised approach to learning designed to meet their individual needs.
It involves a combination of theory and practical sessions and, as well as work placements, also includes guest speaker talks and off-site visits, with most students spending one or two years with the Pathways team.
