We hold Tasters Days each academic year to enable students in Year 11 to spend the day at York College and find out more about the subject choices available to them after GCSEs.
These days are an opportunity to come and experience a day in the College environment and try some of the exciting subjects that we offer, to help them make an informed choice about their next steps.
Booking is required in order to attend and students can only book to attend on one of the dates.
Our bookings for the Year 11 Taster Days in January 2025 have now closed.
If we have been able to allocate you a place on one of the days you should receive an email from us by 17th December 2024 with information for your visit to us and your timetable for the day attached as a PDF document. Check your email junk folder in case it’s been delivered there. If you have not received it, email info4schools@yorkcollege.ac.uk telling us your name and student reference number or date of birth and we’ll check for you. Or you can call us on 01904 770239.
All of the information that you need to know about the day is on the event pages:
Tuesday 14th January – Event information
Thursday 16th January – Event information
If you submitted a booking and we have been unable to allocate you a place as a result of subjects already being full, we will also email you to let you know by 17th December 2024.
If we haven’t been able to allocate you a place, or you are unable to attend, please don’t worry. We still have lots of opportunities for you to find a course to study with us in September, including our next three open events:
- Monday 10th February 2025, 5.30pm – 8.00pm
- Tuesday 1st April 2025, 5.30pm – 7.30pm
- Thursday 19th June 2025, 5.30pm – 7.30pm
You can also find out information about the types of courses here, and about course information for the different subject areas here.
You can submit an application for the College via our website on the Apply page.
For all students holding an offer of a place for September, we will be holding an event during the summer term to which they’ll be invited. This will be another opportunity to visit the College during the day to take part in activities, meet fellow students and get to know the campus, staff and facilities ahead of starting with us after the summer break.
