5 GCSEs at grade C or above, two of which should be Maths, English Language (grade 4 or above) or Science.
One year for each level.
What will I study?
This programme is designed to provide you with an understanding of the many and varied aspects of health and social care services.
Units you will study include:
- Equality and Diversity
- Caring for Older People
- Working in Health Care
- Psychology of Ill Health
Also included are visits, guest speakers, career preparation events and a compulsory work placement.
Please note it is not possible to take an A Level alongside this programme.
How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed through assignments and coursework, and are graded by Pass, Merit and Distinction. All assignments must gain a minimum of a Pass mark in order to gain an overall Pass mark for the course.
What could it lead to?
Foundation degrees in health and social care or other higher education programmes. Merit and Distinction grades must be achieved to progress to higher education.
