Duration and Attendance
This programme can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis. The full-time programme will be delivered over a year, September to June. The part-time programme will be offered over 18 months; you will attend one day each week in the first year, September to June, and one day per week in the second year from September to February.
A BTEC National Certificate/Diploma/Extended Diploma in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline. Where an alternative BTEC Level 3 Engineering qualification has been achieved individual electrical/electronic unit achievement would be considered.
What You'll Do
The Higher National Certificate (HNC) programme is an eight-unit qualification. At present the planned units are:
• Analytical Methods for Engineers
• Engineering Science
• Electrical Electronic Principles
• Programmable Logic Circuits
• Digital Analogue Devices and Circuits
• Instrumentation and Control Principles
• Project Design, Implementation and Evaluation
• Business Management Techniques for Engineers
Where the Programme Leads
Upon completing the HNC, students may wish to progress to a HND at York College or elsewhere. Alternatively, graduates can head straight into the workplace.
