Stand out from your competitors and ensure that you and your staff comply with the new food allergen laws!

Allergen awareness has always been an important part of food safety and from December 2014 it became a legal requirement for all caterers and anybody who sells loose food to adhere to the new allergen labelling rules. Businesses need to comply with the new rules and the aim is to provide customers with allergen information in a clearer way making it easier and safer to make food choices when buying food. This rule will not only apply to manufacturers as it always has in the past but to all caterers however big or small.

Programme Content

The session content includes understanding the new allergen labelling requirements, understanding the top 14 food/products commonly involved with causing allergies, difference between intolerance and allergies and how to comply. This session is very interactive and also includes a taste testing activity as lots of food have hidden ingredients and can mistakenly be consumed but the consequences can be mild, moderate or severe.
