Who is this course aimed at?

This course is designed as progression from the Level 1 Certificate/Diploma.

It is for Students who may want to work as a Plasterer in the construction sector, or to increase your practical and theoretical skills as a hobby or for experience.

Overview

It allows students to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Plastering.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 Certificate/Diploma in Plastering Or Prior Industry experience. (Initial conversation with tutor needed prior to enrolment.

Time: 5.30pm - 9.00pm

Day: Tuesday

Course Length

36 weeks.

Course Content

This course is designed for candidates who work or want to work in the Construction industry. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in their chosen discipline. It covers a number of skills which include;

  • Health & Safety
  • Construction Principles
  • Synoptic practical assessments – a. Apply plastering materials to interiors b. Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors c. Lay sand and cement screeds d. Apply plastering materials to external backgrounds e. Produce reverse moulds for fibrous work f. Cast and fix fibrous plasterwork
  • Theory/underpinning knowledge to support current industry standards

Teaching Method(s)

A mixture of Practical and Theory lessons.

Exams and Assessments

Externally marked exams.

Internal theory exams.

Practical synoptic tests.

FAQs

Will I be fully qualified after this qualification?

No, you will need to be employed in the industry and convert your Diploma to an NVQ via the completion of an on-site portfolio. This will then need to be monitored and assessed from one of our tutors/assessors.

City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma.
