The course covers a range of techniques to gain a basic introduction to woodcarving, however, students who have carved before can move onto a more developed project.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Dates and Times
We are hoping to run this course in Autumn 2017.
Students will learn basic techniques such as tool selection and sharpening, timber selection and preparation, marking out techniques, and carving and finishing.
All sessions are tutor-led and students will work from examples, with demonstrations, presentations and practical guidance, to produce an architectural moulding.
Students will be encouraged to develop the skills and techniques learned in class to carve more advanced pieces.
Tools and materials supplied.
The cost of this course was £300 in 2016 but this may change in 2017.
Courses costing more than £100 can usually be paid for in instalments. Please contact the College for details.
