(Level 3) Diploma in Business Administration

Most candidates start on a Level 2 and progress to the Level 3 although the level may be determined by the role in the workplace and previous qualifications.

Entry requirement

You will have a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade D (grade 3+) or above including English and Maths.

Why Business Administration?

Administrative roles exist across all industry sectors. Every business, large or small needs administrators who can provide quality support in a variety of different departments. For example you might work in a medical practice, hospital or an educational environment in a secretarial, personnel, accounts, purchasing or IT role.
By completing a Diploma in Business Administration you will enhance your administrative skills, improve your efficiency and performance and become a valuable team member. This will demonstrate to an employer that you have gained the right knowledge and experience to help in their business and encourage them to invest in you and your career.

What will I study?

Mandatory units: 
Communicate in a business environment 
Principles of business communication and information 
Principles of administration 
Principles of business 
Manage personal and professional development

Optional Units include:
Organise and deliver customer services
Chair and lead meetings
Procure products and/or services
Develop a presentation
Evaluate the provision of business travel or accommodation

How will I be assessed?

There will be 3 mandatory online tests for each level of the course and the students will also gather evidence for a portfolio from their place of work to match their chosen units.

What could it lead to?

Good administrative skills are extremely valuable to employers and can lead to many other career opportunities including promotion, management training, or even starting your own business.
