What will I study?
This is an exciting one year course in Art and Design delivered through projects that will inspire you to develop your creative skills by covering a variety of themes. You will gain in confidence studying at Level 1 in an art and design studio. The tutors will guide and support you in studios and workshops to produce a portfolio of work in art and design. The course involves the following areas: exploring drawing, painting, surface relief, 3D design craft and a personal project. You will experiment with lots of art, design and craft media and techniques and find out about other artists' work in a lively and exciting way.
You will use your ideas for subjects such as painting, drawing, 3D and collage, and develop ideas for projects such as designing your own music packaging, mask making and contemporary three-dimensional pieces. At the end of the course your work will be exhibited in the Creative Show.
Functional Skills in English and Maths will also be studied at this level to ensure that you are well prepared for employment or the next level at college.
During the programme there are visits to galleries, museums or exhibitions to provide inspiration for your own work in art and design.
How will I be assessed?

There is a contribution of £50 towards course materials to pay at enrolment.
What could it lead to?
