Student Services is a team of specialists here to help you throughout your studies and beyond. You can find us by visiting the InfoZone to your left as you come into the building.

Opening times - Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm and  Friday 8.30am-4.30pm.

Careers Service

One to one careers advice is provided by our own careers advisor.

Counselling Service

Office Location GF054 Student Services.
Office Hours  Monday - Friday (see individual information above for Lou Burke and Jill Dance). At certain times there will also be volunteer counsellors available.

Tutor information only :- If you are encouraging students to get in touch with the counselling service, get them to use this email address as it is checked every day. If you have concerns about a student, are not sure how to handle a situation or are considering referring them for counselling, drop us an email and we'll get back to you asap.

Responsible for:

  • Providing administrative help and support to all the Student Services team.

Lou Burke - Student Mental Health Co-ordinator

Responsible for:

  • Managing Counsellors and Intensive Personal Advisers.
  • Counselling/mental health queries, procedures, policies; student 1:1's and staff training.

Andy D'Agorne - Careers Co-ordinator

Responsible for:

  • Manages careers support, including organising talks and events, careers interviews, 'My Future' booklets, the UCAS application system.
  • Operational aspects of college coaches, including gathering and responding to feedback and complaints.

Jill Dance - Counsellor

Responsible for:

  • Seeing students for counselling by appointment.
  • Seeing  students to talk over the pros and cons of requesting counselling, no strings attached!

Jules Dymond - Funding and Welfare Advisor

Responsible for:

  • Providing information, advice and guidance on all funding and money matters. Advice is available on everything from fee remission for entry level courses to degree funding queries, benefits entitlement, money for lunch and how to pay for course trips.

Responsible for:

  • Directing the Student Services team's activities and college transport.
  • I am happy to receive constructive feedback and suggestions on how we can improve the service.

Julie Murgatroyd - Intensive Personal Advisor

Responsible for: 

  • Working with students aged 16-19 and up to 25 if LDD. The types of student I work with includes those who are sofa-surfing, potentially homeless, living independently, pregnant, young parents, young carers, care leavers, or have substance misuse issues, debt etc - or a mixture of the above! By providing 1:1 support we enable students to deal with these issues and therefore stay in College.
  • Helping students to access internal and external specialist support.
