11th February 2019
The York College Gallery presents a pop up exhibition by current A-Level Photography students. The exhibition celebrates the work of both first and second year photography students, mid-way through their studies.
Lexie Wiggins (formerly of Outwood Academy, Easingwold), was inspired by Julian Germain’s series ‘For every minute you are angry you lose 60 seconds of happiness’. Lexi documented her relationship with her Grandma and those close to her. Her thoughtful set of images reflect the day to day life of her Grandma Olga, culminataing in the production of a strong body of work, with an honest and touching sentiment.
A-Level Art and Design at York College offers an interdisciplinary experience which provides the opportunity to share facilities and insight from experienced tutors. Students are guided through the creative, conceptual, research and analytical skills needed to produce outstanding work in the medium of their choice.
This pop-up exhibition runs until 22nd February 2019. More work will be displayed at the end of year Creative Show 2019 (28th June – 5th July) when all A Level Art and Design students will share their work.
