The Production team from ITV's 'The Voice' came to York College to hold auditions in the music department's live room, searching for budding singers for next year's prime-time show.

Whilst auditions were open to all York College students, it was the College's music and performing arts students who were first in the queue, each keen to impress the judges with an accapella version of their chosen song.

Jan Ansell, Head of Division for Performing Arts at York College is delighted the production company chose the College as an audition venue, saying: "We have many talented singers studying music and performing arts, some majoring in music, whilst others study acting, musical theatre and dance. Hosting the production company here, using our first-class live room facilities, is a real coop for the College.  Performing arts students will audition for parts, of all descriptions, as they progress in their individual careers and this kind of experience is invaluable. Who knows, we may see one of them on The Voice  next year!"
