To mark the start of the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse, students gathered in the College’s atrium to watch a traditional Chinese lion dance performed by students studying the Extended Diploma in Dance. The lion dance included a traditional Chinese blessing at each corning of the atrium, to music supplied by the College’s music department.
Jane Wilson, from the York College International department said: “Along with the 25 Chinese students currently studying at York College, students from all over the College enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year. The event was also supported by the Students Union, who decorated the atrium in red and gold drapes. The event was rounded off nicely with Chinese food served by Duets, the College caterers.”
