York College staff have once again generously donated provisions for the Christmas Besom Hamper project, handing over 27 hampers to the organisers. The hampers will be delivered to local people who face difficult times this Christmas.
Religious Studies tutor Anna Lewis and her students co-ordinated the hamper collection around the College and were delighted with the response from all departments saying: “It’s really great that College staff get involved in this project, their donations are very much appreciated by those in need and can make a huge difference to their Christmas experience.”
Rob Ainsworth, Co-ordinator at Besom Hampers was overwhelmed by the College’s contribution saying: “We are very grateful to the staff at York College for their kind donations. Last year we collected a total of 150 hampers around the region and already the College has contributed more than 20 per cent of that figure. We are hoping to increase the number of hampers this Christmas and it looks very likely that we will be able to do this.”
