The York College pantomime ‘Oh more tales from Mother Goose’, featured two different stories: ‘Buried Treasure and Pirates of the Jammy Dodger’ and ‘Beyond the Baubles’ (the story of the Christmas tree decorations who rescued the fairy from the top of the tree). The pantomime was enjoyed by an audience of 800 people.

The pantomime was written and performed by Extended Diploma Musical Theatre students and was attended by children from four local primary schools and a local Rainbow pack. The children were kept entertained throughout and enjoyed interacting with the performance. Sam Watson (aged 6) of Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy said: “I liked the pirates the best, especially when they did the Gangnam style dance, they were really funny.”

Backstage Productions Arts students provided the technical support in the College’s Alan Ayckbourn Theatre, as well as building the set for the production.
