Adult Open Event
Every year at York College & University Centre we welcome a large and diverse cohort of adult learners who study on a wide range of courses, covering various subjects at different levels, from short courses to university-level study.
If you’re looking to retrain to change career, upskill for work or personal development, aiming to progress at work or if you’re just wanting to start a new hobby, we might have a course for you.
At our Adult Open Event you will be able to discover all courses available for adults 19+:
- Evening/day classes
- Access to Higher Education
- Teacher Training
- Apprenticeships
- Professional accredited qualifications
- Distance Learning
- Degrees and higher-level study
- ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
- Short courses
We will have all curriculum areas represented, with our knowledgeable staff on hand who will be ready to offer advice, guidance and discuss courses available to you from this September. There will also be various interactive displays and demonstrations for you to explore and mini activities for you to even have a go at!

This event is open to all, so feel free to bring the whole family along. Parking will be free and so will tea, coffee and cake!
