Your Course may be FREE!

York College is delighted the government has announced that many more adult students will now qualify for free education as part of a one year trial being introduced for some courses starting on or after 1st August 2018. Under the current rules, adult students must be unemployed and in receipt of benefits to be eligible to study certain courses for free, but under this new scheme these courses will also now be free for most adults who are working and earning under £15,736.50 a year. This extension of funding is great news for adults who want to study qualifications to help them further their careers or learn new skills but who cannot afford to pay tuition fees. The new funding is available for both day and evening courses and covers a wide variety of subjects at Level 1 and Level 2 including accounting, professional cookery, child studies, construction, health and social care distance learning, as well as English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
