The European Structural and Investment Funds programme provides funds to help local areas grow. The funds support investment in innovation, businesses, skills and employment and create jobs.
York College is pleased to be a delivery partner in three of the recently announced European Social Fund (ESF) and Skills Funding Agency funded projects which support local Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership region.
These ESF funded projects will run until March 2018 as a minimum and support SMEs, companies with less than 250 employees, within the sectors of Agritech, Bio Economy, Construction, Engineering, Health and Social Care, Voluntary/Community and Visitor Economy. Support will be offered to employees, aged 19 and over under one or more of the following projects:
The Yorkshire Apprenticeship Hub Service which aims to increase the number of employees requiring new knowledge and skills to enter apprenticeships.The Lead Partner for the project is Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education.
The Skills Support for the Workforce programme which will provide an employer responsive skills programme meeting business and industry needs and driving up skills levels.
The programme will support employers to develop employees to fill intermediate, technical and higher level skills gaps. The Lead Partner for the project is Calderdale College.
The Widening Participation in Higher Level Skills programme will support employers in recruiting and developing graduates and the development of current employees to support their progression into higher level skills training, programmes at level 3 and above. The Lead Partner for the project is Calderdale College.
