Taking on an Apprentice is both rewarding and good for business. You will be giving an individual a great start in their working life, ensuring they have the skills they need to be successful in work, while at the same time boosting your bottom line by giving your workforce precisely the skills you need them to have. There is support available for eligible employers recruiting apprentices. Eligibility criteria and financial value of the support differs dependent employers satisfying eligibility criteria.
Leeds City Region LEP Apprenticeship Grant
If you’re a small or medium sized business looking to take on an apprentice then financial support may be available. Businesses in West Yorkshire and York could be eligible for grants of up to £2,000 when they take on an apprentice aged 16 – 24 years old.

National Government Apprenticeship Grant
The National Government Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) has been extended until 31 December 2015. £1,500 is available for eligible employers who commit to employ one or more 16 to 24 year old apprentices for the first time, or who have not employed one in the last 12 months.
